It briefly rose above 1.14 again overnight, but failed to post fresh highs. The pair fell back to 1.1380 and is currently consolidating around that level. Key intraday support is seen at 1.1340 and 1.1315. GBP/USD fell sharply yesterday after CPI arrived at -0.1 % vs 0.0 % expected. It declined from 1.5385 to a low of 1.52, from where it had a decent bounce. Cable reached a high of 1.5290 overnight and resistance is now seen at 1.53. Should it be able to break above the level, 1.5380/90 will be the next major obstacle. Keep in mind that we have UK employment data today at 0930 BST. USD/JPY got dragged lower by falling equity markets, but is still caught in a range. It found solid support at 119.50 and bounced from there. Intraday support is seen at 119.20, while resistance lies at 120.10.

Upcoming Events:

 07:45 BST – French CPI

 08:00 BST – Spanish CPI

 09:00 BST – Italian CPI

09:30 BST – UK Average Earnings

09:30 BST – UK Claimant Count Change

09:30 BST – UK Unemployment Rate

10:00 BST – Euro Zone Industrial Production

13:30 BST – US Retail Sales

 13:30 BST – US PPI

15:00 BST – US Business Inventories

19:00 BST – US Beige Book

Global Markets: Asian stock markets: Nikkei down 1.55 %, Shanghai Composite up 0.05 %, Hang Seng fell 0.40 %, ASX declined 0.15 % Commodities: Gold at $1172.80 (+0.65 %), Silver at $16.00 (+0.60 %), WTI Oil at $46.84 (+0.40 %), Brent Oil at $49.80 (+0.40 %) Rates: US 10 year yield at 2.05, UK 10 … Continue reading Wednesday 14th October: European Open Briefing

[1

post-14977","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
